Team story

[p]After a one-year break, the Old Mill Financial Planners and Accountants are back for their third summer charity cycle challenge. On this occasion the cycle challenge has a very poignant message.  In August last year, The Old Mill family lost Exeter employee Nick Baker to a short and sudden battle with cancer.  Nick was Old Mill’s true action man, having run marathon’s and completed John o’ Groats to Land’s End, as well as participating in the previous two Old Mill charity cycle challenges raising money for School in a Bag.  He was a much loved character and a great support during both rides, offering support, knowledge and advice whilst on two wheels and well in to the evenings on both challenges.[/p] [p]The Nick Baker Memorial Ride will see riders from Old Mill travel to St. Malo, France and cycle back to their office in Yeovil, Somerset over four days.  The last time some of our riders rode a bike, they had stabilizers attached! Our riders this time will be raising money for two important charities: Marie Curie (chosen by Nick’s parents) who provide care and support to people and their families with a terminal illness, and School in a Bag who send rucksacks filled with stationery, learning resources and eating utensils to poor, orphan, disadvantaged and disaster affected children around the world.  Proceeds from this event are to be split 50/50 between each charity.[/p] [p]Please help us to support these two worthy charities as we celebrate and remember the life of our work colleague and a true champion of our ‘peloton’ Nick Baker.[/p][p]Thanks for visiting our page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
