My story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting my page[/p][p]Over the last 12 months I’ve been touched by cancer in many ways. In some cases friends recovered from cancer, some losing their battle and some still having treatment.[/p][p]When I was told about a challenge to run the London Marathon in 2019 and raise money for a children’s cancer charity I jumped at the chance.[/p][p]Childhoood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) is a UK charity dedicated to helping people affected by retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer.[/p][p]CHECT provide support and information to families and individuals. CHECT fund research into the prevention and treatment.[/p][p]A young boy called James who I’ve performed many magic shows for has recently been supported by CHECT during his journey with eye cancer. [/p][p]This is what James’s proud parents said to me,[/p][p]‘From the moment James was diagnosed CHECT (their support worker- Lesley) were there for us. They offered emotional and practical support for us all. They signposted us to other families who had / were going through the same. We continue to receive support from the charity. We really do not know what we would do without them. [/p][p]James rang the bell twice! As he had to undergo chemo for the rb then a second (more aggressive course) as they couldn’t be sure it hadn’t “ leaked” [/p][p]Ringing the bell kept him (and us all going) it really is a significant moment.[/p][p]We always tell James he is the bravest boy we know. Our very own superhero xx’[/p][p] Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
