My story

[p]NMBS is setting out to find the independent merchant that best gets into the spirit of the Halloween season, with the launch of a new fundraising competition to raise money for construction industry charity CRASH.[/p][p]The competition is asking merchant branches to transform their trade counters, displays, or perhaps even part of their yard, using all manner of spooky decorations to celebrate Halloween on 31st October. [/p][p]Staff members are also being encouraged to dress up for the occasion – the spookier and more creative the outfit, the better – while asking customers and fellow staff members to sponsor them, and to give generously to CRASH. [/p][p]NMBS’ suppliers can also get involved by decorating their offices and showrooms in support of the charity.[/p][p]To enter the competition, merchants and suppliers should take to social media on 31st October and upload photos of their spook-tacular decorated branches and fancy dress to Twitter and Instagram, remembering to tag @nationalmerch and using the hashtag #nmbshalloween.[/p][p]NMBS is also offering prizes for the best entries. The best branch – as voted for by NMBS – will win 10,000 Professional Points to spend with NMBS, worth an impressive £500. The person who is voted the best dressed on the day will win a fantastic six-piece Makita Power Tool Kit.[/p][p]CRASH is a unique, practical charity that assists homelessness and hospice charities with construction related projects, creating places that care for people. CRASH does this by sourcing pro bono professional expertise, building materials and awarding cash grants donate by the construction and property industry. Well designed and expertly built environments have a positive effect on how we all feel and behave. This is especially true for people who are homeless, vulnerable or sick and those who care for them.[/p]
