We need your support to continue our very important work. Every donation makes a difference. [lt]/div[gt] [lt]div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 0px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow: hidden;"[gt]The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is an important "not-for-profit" wildlife conservancy in Kenya. It is the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees and is home to four of the world's last seven northern white rhinos. It's a very special place and if you have visited the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, you already know that. [lt]/div[gt] [lt]div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 0px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow: hidden;"[gt]Keeping our wildlife safe is not cheap and comes at a high cost.  In addition, our mission statement states that any surplus income generated from our operations is reinvested into conservation and community development.[lt]/div[gt] [lt]div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 0px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow: hidden;"[gt]While Ol Pejeta aims to be self-sustaining, the total revenues generated are insufficient to support the needs of our surrounding communities and associated conservation initiatives. [lt]/div[gt] [lt]div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 0px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow: hidden;"[gt]Ol Pejeta will continue to rely on the goodwill of individuals and organisations throughout the world to achieve our mission. [lt]/div[gt][p][b] Thank you for your interest in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Our goal is to ensure the surrounding communities continue to benefit from conservation, and that the diverse species and habitats of the Laikipia ecosystem are safeguarded now, and in the future. We can only do this with your help.[/p][p]Keeping our rhino safe costs around $850 per rhino, per month - we have over 105 rhinos. One medical kit for a community health worker costs $230. Equipping one ranger with boots, a radio headset, a solar charger, and a uniform comes to $280. Please, give what you can and help make a difference.[/p][p]Ol Pejeta will continue to rely on the goodwill of individuals and organisations throughout the world to achieve our mission. Good luck. Rhinos play a unique ecological role in habitat restoration, by pooing in the same area, like pigs, and thereby creating 'islands' of improved soil which then attract more grass species, trees and animals. Please promote this ecological gain.
