My story

[p]Karen Brown was a wonderfully creative, inspiring, warmhearted teacher who made a daily impact on our community bringing out the best in all of us and Orley Farm School has lost a truly amazing person. Aside from being an outstanding classroom teacher, Karen ran interactive assemblies in which 350 pupils and teachers remained captivated and engaged, hanging on a story that could literally go anywhere. She had a remarkable way of making all of us ‘think’ in new ways and her infectious excitement, enthusiasm and willingness to believe in the impossible fuelled countless dreams![/p][p]However, perhaps the most remarkable thing is that she did this in such a quiet and humble way, never seeking the limelight or credit but simply wanting pupils, teachers and parents to thrive and get the most out of whatever experience she was supporting.[/p][p]As we all come to terms with losing such a special person, this also offers our whole community an opportunity to think about keeping her story with us. Karen was all of the above and so much more to each of us and therefore when we heard that the family nominated ‘Place2Be’ as the charity to reflect her passion, it felt natural to bring this into our community as we try to ensure that every pupil, teacher and parent knows and recognises the importance of good mental health. As a community, we will find personal ways, big and small to link events that tell Karen’s story over the years to come.[/p][p]Thank you for giving so generously to such a worthy cause and hopefully we will all find something new in ourselves as we reflect on the life and work of such a kind, humble and wonderful person. Karen we miss you![/p][p]Your Orley Farm Family x[/p]

Amara Chotai

Our Xmas day family tradition is for me & my cousins to do something special for charity. I made lots of bracelets & lapel pins and sold them to my family members, in remembrance of Mrs. Brown, who was a kind and inspirational teacher.
