2018 Virgin Money London Marathon

[p]Well I have finally bitten the bullet and made the commitment to run the London marathon. Or just a marathon as I've never run any marathon before so start with a biggy.... That feeling of joy to know you've got a place, and also the trepidation that ahead lies a long road of training on dark, and cold winter nights and mornings.[/p][p]Whilst I've enjoyed the parkrun experience (100 and counting), and the odd Santa dash, this will be a completely new experience for me. I've watched the marathon on tv numerous times, what a spectacle! Friends who have run it before say it's a great experience. So definitely one to cross off the bucket list, and try and drag the old bones around without stopping, although my competitive side is hoping to be fit enough for sub 4 hours![/p][p]I'm running to raise money for our corporate charity of the year - Teenage Cancer Trust. They do a fantastic job to help young people with 7 young people in the UK every week are diagnosed with cancer. Over the last 25 years Teenage Cancer Trust has grown to become a global leader in the field of young cancer care, our pioneering model admired the world over.
