My story

[p]Just completed my four swims. Each of them has challenged me in a different way both physically and psychologically. From extremely challenging sea conditions in the Firth of Forth to horrendous cramp attacks on Loch Venachar and a long cold 3hr swim on Loch Lubnaig.[/p][p]I've done all this for the young brave cancer patients of Scotland to support them and their families. Huge thank you to my coach Rob @VigourEvents.[/p][p]Neil Baird kindly did a wee video of my latest swim down Loch Venachar (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9k-RNggXzlg). Thanks Neil![/p][p][br][/p][p]==[/p][p]It’s Good 2 Give is a registered Scottish charity that supports young cancer patients and their families in practical ways. In May 2017, the charity opened the Ripple Retreat providing a purpose-built, restful, safe place where young cancer patients and their families can escape for a few days away from the everyday trauma of living with cancer. The Retreat is situated on the beautiful shores of Loch Venachar in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.[/p][p][br][/p][p]Continuing my swimming theme from last year, I will be swimming:[/p][p]1) DONE: Length of Loch Lubnaig (5.8km) 4 August; [/p][p]2) DONE: 2 mile challenge in Loch Lomond 25 August;[/p][p]3) DONE: Across the Firth of Forth by the rail bridge (1.4miles and a tough swim!) 22 September;[/p][p]4) DONE: 6/10/18 Finally the length of Loch Venachar 5.3km.[/p][p] [/p][p]Please help me support these extremely brave young cancer patients and their families.[/p][p]For more information on the Ripple Retreat, please visit: http://www.rippleretreat.com/[/p][p]It’s Good 2 Give is a registered charity number SC041416 and is run by the wonderful Lynne and Ian McNicoll.[/p]
