My story

[p]I'm at it again - and this time it's the big one! [/p][p]So please support me (and I promise not to come after you again after this event). This is a cause that really matters - people need holistic support when living with or beyond cancer. That's what Paul's provides across south west London. [/p][p]And for me, it's personal. No one ever wants to hear the words 'it's cancer', or as I heard about 2 years ago 'it's leukaemia', but somewhere between a third and a half of us will. [/p][p]I was lucky - the next words were 'and we can treat it'. I am currently fit and well enough to run a marathon, and I'm immensely grateful to the wonderful haematology team at St George's, Tooting. But when grappling with cancer, you need more than the medics, you need support in the round, and that is why the work of Paul's Cancer Support Centre is vital[/p][p]It's a very special place - a warm and friendly centre offering holistic support to people across south London - those living with or after cancer, and their families and other key people in their lives. I have benefitted so much from what they provide - counselling, workshops, singing, dance, mindfulness, safe complementary therapies, home visits, yoga, and simply a place to meet where the welcome is warm and everyone understands.[/p][p]It's really important that this Centre - a small charity, which receives no government funding - is always there, ready for anyone in their time of need[/p][p]Please consider making a donation - no amount too small! I am immensely grateful for the support I received from Paul's, and I feel immensely privileged to have the opportunity to run The London Marathon for them. They have a place only once every 5 years, and I really want to do them proud.[/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on Paul's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
