Team story

[p]THE EVENT:[/p][p]On Sunday 25th April 2021 two Ben's and a Nelly will each be rowing the virtual length of the River Cam which, from its source south of Debden to its mouth at the River Great Ouse, equates to 69km. A total distance of 207km between them.[/p][p][br][/p][p]MEET THE TEAM:[/p][p]The Skipper, Ben S is taking on his second rowing event of 2021, having completed the virtual English Channel Row on 31st January, where he rowed the 34km from England to France in just under 3 hours on his trusty Concept 2 machine.[/p][p]The Engine, Nelly is swapping his wetsuit for boat, having previously completed several endurance swims for worthy causes. [/p][p]The Coach, Ben B completes the team bringing his years of coaching experience to the table to ensure the formidable team reach the end of the challenge in one piece.[/p][p]THE DETAILS:[/p][p]Boats will be pushing off at 0900 on 25th April and the 3 amigos aim to be opening their first celebratory beverage around 6 hours later.[/p][p]Since none of the team are fans of getting wet and cold they will be completing the challange on Concept 2 rowing machines at BBfit HQ, Histon, Cambridge, with the 3 rowing machines linked together and their progress displayed on a large screen outside (and possibly a live stream on the social...). [/p][p]THE CAUSE:[/p][p]No great endurance event should be undertaken without a worthy cause to raise a few penies for, they will be rowing their socks off in aid of the local charity, STARS Children's Bereavement Support Service, who do such a great job supporting young people that need it most, and who's work has only increased over the last 12 months.
