My story

[p]Thank you so much for coming to this page, and taking the time to read Andrea's story.[/p][p]On July 7th this year, my dear friend Andrea passed away after a six month battle with auto immune liver disease. Andrea was an amazing mother to Edward, 4, and Alexander, 1, and a pretty awesome wife to my mate Rob. She was also, in no particular order, a talented photographer, an excellent singer, and one of the kindest, most sincere souls I had ever had the privilege to meet.[/p][p]Autoimmune conditions are rare, though they mostly affect women. Little is known about them, and Rob, along with the rest of Andrea's lovely family, hope to change that. They are raising funds for the Medical Research Foundation, which funnels all of its donations into finding out more about illnesses that are under funded. Autoimmune liver disease is one such illness, and it is hoped that by raising money in Andrea's memory, it will eventually be possible that no family will have to go through what Andrea's has.[/p][p]I am running the London Marathon in Andrea's memory. 26.2 miles is tough, but it is not as tough as what Andrea and her family have experienced. Life is precious. We are all so very lucky to have it. Let's make every last step of it count. [/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p]

Dear Bryony, I read your article in The Telegraph regarding Andrea Colville, and found it very moving. The MRF is a very worthy cause and am happy to help sponsor you in your 2020 Marathon.

Very best of luck. My granddaughter has an, as yet, undiagnosed degenerative liver disease. There seems to be a lack of research funding in this area of medicine.

This story struck a chord with me, as 6 1/2 years ago my Mum also died from Autoimmune Hepatitis, at the age of 84. Your friend was far too young, & I hope this fundraising makes a huge difference to autoimmune research.
