My story

[p]I work at Russet House School, a specialist school in Enfield for children aged 3-11 with Autism. In October, I started a running club (Russet Runners) for the children in two classes and it has been highly successful. [/p][p]Staff have reported improvements in concentration, behaviour, fitness and the children (and staff) are really enjoying it. Everyday, we run / walk around our play area for 10 minutes and tally up how many laps we complete. 10 laps equals a mile. The children receive certificates at 1 mile, 5km, 10km and half marathon distances. The children receive a certificate and a medal when they have completed 262 laps - a marathon! After 12 weeks I was able to present the first two marathon medals - what an achievement. [/p][p]However, the constant movement on the grass means that the grass is now churning up and Russet Runners might have to stop until the weather improves. [/p][p]Please help me raise some money towards an all weather running track which can be used throughout the year so that Russet Runners can continue all year round andso that this can be expanded throughout the school. [/p][p]It gives me so much pleasure to see the children (and staff) at school enjoying running. [/p][p]This year to help raise money towards this cause I will be running the following marathons:[/p][ul][li]4th March - Groundhog[/li][li]12th March - Larmer[/li][li]1st April - Silkin Way Ultra[/li][li]1st May - Milton Keynes[/li][li]28th May - Dorchester[/li][li]24th June - Giant's Head[/li][li]8th July - Cider Frolic[/li][li]9th September - Bad Cow Frolic[/li][li]10th September - Bad Cow Marathon[/li][li]24th September - Berlin[/li][li]8th October - Lee Valley[/li][li]16th December - Bovington [/li][/ul][p][/p][p]____________________________________________________________________[/p][p]Hi, thanks for visiting my page.
