Team story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting our page.[/p][p]Twenty ‘angels’ are taking on the challenge to climb the Three Highest Peaks in the home nations: Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike finishing with Snowdon. Our ‘chief angel’ Jen Woolfson is training us hard for the 3,000 vertical metres that we will complete over a period of just 24 hours.[/p] [p]Why are we doing this – other than to chat non-stop for a whole day, eat sweets with no guilt and witness some spectacular scenery? Well…. in March 2010 my son, Ryan, died very suddenly of Meningitis B. He was a ‘trophy son’ full of personality, clever, funny, talented and just good to be around. He had just celebrated his 16[sup]th[/sup] Birthday and had his whole wonderful life ahead of him. We had no notice or time to say goodbye – it all happened within an hour.[/p] [p]‘a Life for a Cure’ was formed as both a legacy to Ryan and to help raise awareness and valuable funds in search for the ultimate vaccine. This is one of the most devastating and infectious diseases in the UK and it will continue to destroy other special people like Ryan, unless a vaccine for all strains of Meningitis B is found urgently.[/p] [p]Each angel is totally committed to this challenge and I thank them all for their continued support – not just for this event, but for every week on The Downs. A massive thank you to Jen for organizing the whole trip, encouraging and training us, and providing us all with some Three Peaks chic!! She has donated our team top that we will all be wearing with pride that has been customised with the help of Carillion Printing in Bristol.[/p] [p]Please be as generous as you can and in your comments state which ‘angel’ you are sponsoring from the following;[/p] [p]Jen Woolfson, Celeste Carter (my dear sister-in-law). Michelle Watson, Reena Anderson Buckley, Myee Moody, Muna, Nicky, Jennifer, Sally Fry, Lisa Allen, Pip Nash, Elena Yates, Marianne, Jo Herrod, Hazel Rugg, Helen Gardhouse, Sally Chesser, Jane, Shannon and Me!![/p] [p]Thank you in advance from us all. We really appreciate every penny that is donated and will be spurred on by your support. Ryan will of course be with us every step of the way too.[/p] [p]Love and thanks, Michelle Bresnahan xxXx[/p] [p][/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to 'a Life for a Cure' who work in association with Meningitis UK. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.[/p]
