My story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting our page.[/p][p]Young people, staff and supporters at The Salmon Youth Centre are running the London Big Half Marathon on the 10th March 2019. We are raising money for the great work of Salmon Youth Centre.[/p][p]EVERY POUND DONATED IS MATCHED, DOUBLING YOUR FUNDRAISING EFFORTS.[/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p]The Salmon Youth Centre in Bermondsey has been reaching out to disadvantaged young people in inner city London for over a hundred years.[/p][p]We welcome around 500 young people every week. Our doors are open to all young people, from all backgrounds, between six and 24 years. We build long-term relatioships with young people through regular social interaction. [/p][p]Every week we run six open access clubs and over twenty specialised clubs, including arts, sports and training sessions. Our targeted youthwork includes disability work, girls work, NEET work (young people Not in Education, Employment or Training), apprenticeships, young volunteers, Duke of Edinburgh Awards, day trips and residentials. [/p][p]The young people we work with may be:[/p][p]in care or leaving care;[/p][p]an ex offender leaving prison;[/p][p]a young carer looking after a parent;[/p][p]young people facing abuse at home;[/p][p]those at risk of homelessness or offending;[/p][p]young people with disabilities.[/p][p]We believe that every young person has potential and we work intensively to inspire young people to reach their potential and contribute positively to the community in which they live. You can help us with this life changing work and donate to The Salmon Youth Centre! [/p]
