My story

[p]Hello! My name is San Chima. I am a 60 year old father, husband, uncle, solicitor, mentor and long distance cyclist. I live and love life in London, England. However, right now I’m somewhere between Astoria on America’s west coast and Portsmouth New Hampshire! I and my trusty bike are clocking up nearly 4000 miles as I cycle Coast2CoastUSA. [/p][p]Why am I doing it?[/p][p]I am raising money for two inspirational charities that really need our support. Parkinson’s UK and Cancer Research are receiving all donations and sponsorship and I have an ambitious target to really make a difference. It is the knowledge that every mile I cycle is helping towards these two great causes which is currently spurring me on when my saddle feels like an enemy and the hills are steep![/p][p]The challenge[/p][p]Coast2CoastUSA is a monumental challenge. I am riding an average of 80 miles a day over 50 days. I’m cycling through 10 states as well as Ontario, Canada. I started in Astoria on the Pacific coast. Here I dipped my wheels in the ocean and will be doing the same again 3695 miles later in the Atlantic.[/p][p]Crossing this gigantic country I am already experiencing a complete range of landscapes, urban areas and peoples. I’m updating my blog as I complete each stage so that you can see what I’ve been up to. There are amazing places to come![/p][p]The man in the saddle[/p][p]Whilst fundraising is a vital part of what I am doing, this is also a personal challenge. My philosophy is that you only live once (YOLO for the youth!). Challenges inspire us and enable us to be all that we can be. I don’t want to have lived life achieving only a fraction of what I’m capable of. This challenge is also about pushing myself to my limits, as through my coaching I encourage others to do the same. [/p][p]This immense bike ride is adding something new to my previous accomplishments of running my own law firm, building a property portfolio and the collection of marathons, ultramarathons and long distance rides I have under my belt.[/p][p]Thank you[/p][p]Thank you for taking the time to check out my story. I hope I’ve inspired you to embrace challenges for yourself and for the good of others. [/p][p]Please, give generously and let’s make each mile count. I’m grateful for all contributions here. Corporate sponsors, there is still time to get on board with a corporate sponsorship package.[/p]
