My story

[p]In the summer of 2021, Alex Ledger and George Bullard will attempt to run the 630 mile South West Coast Path (SWCP), England’s longest National Trail.[/p][p]En route they will be exploring with locals and fellow adventurers by land, air and sea, to bring to life stories of how the outdoors and adventure sports in particular can profoundly benefit mental and physical wellbeing. In the wake of what has been a harrowing year for mental health, this couldn’t be more timely.[/p][p]Alex and George spent the winter training in the Alps and are now back in the UK ready for the trip. They will be supported by fellow Paramotor Pilots Oscar Manville-Hales, Jamie Campbell and Toby Drax. Oscar is in charge of documenting the trip, Jamie will liaise with the charities and land owners, and Toby will liaise with the various communities joining us en route.[/p][p]The Team will be raising funds for 5 different charities. Alex has chosen to raise funds for Friends of Cornwall SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity. George has chosen to raise funds for the Brains Trust in support of friend suffering from a high grade Brain Tumour. We will also be raising funds for the South West Coast Path Association, which looks after the trail, Reorg, which teaches Jiu Jitsu to veterans, and the Veterans Hub Weymouth, which looks after veterans in the South West Dorset region. While in Cornwall we will be supported by Man Down, a not for profit organisation which support's men's mental health in Cornwall.[/p][p]The team believe that with the mental health pandemic and our current civil liberties being patiently tested, this is a fantastic opportunity to shine some light at the end of the tunnel. They want to inspire people to get out there and start exploring off the beaten path, because they know first hand how being outdoors during times of turbulence can work wonders.[/p]
