Team story

[p]Hello,[/p][p]Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.[/p][p]We are raising money for Small Steps School for Parents where Sam (James's son, Maddy's nephew) goes every Monday morning with his mum for conductive education sessions. Sam has cerebral palsy and needs constant therapy to help him learn to sit, stand and use his arms. He has to work really hard to learn everyday physical skills, but he's also a very cheerful 3 year old who loves to laugh.[/p][p][lt]object width="425" height="350" data="http://www.youtube.com/v/39YPC2h2tXI&feature" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"[gt][lt]param name="data" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/39YPC2h2tXI&feature" /[gt][lt]param name="quality" value="high" /[gt][lt]param name="wmode" value="transparent" /[gt][lt]param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/39YPC2h2tXI&feature" /[gt][lt]/object[gt][/p][p][/p][p]Sam's two hour sessions at Small Steps have been an incredibly valuable part of his therapy routine. Small Steps is a charity that runs entirely on donations. It is based in Roehampton and works with over 50 children a week with various physical disabilities. Children attend a group session at Small Steps once per week with a parent or carer. There are up to 5 children per group who are all working on similar skills. A team of teachers, conductors and physiotherapists lead the parent/ child team through a structured programme designed to help each child achieve the next developmental steps. Parents do not pay anything for their children to attend.[/p][p]http://smallstepssfp.org.uk/[/p][p][/p][p]James and Maddy will be running a half marathon in Richmond in late March 2013. This will be the furthest either of them have run (if they make it).[/p][p]We are very grateful for any and all donations.[/p]
