Team story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting our page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p]Well with a little over two months until the Virgin London marathon I think that the time has come to inform those of you that do not already know that I will be running it this year. The training has been going pretty well over the last few months and I'm now confident that I will be able to give a good account of myself. [/p][p]I have secured a charity place from BLESMA having failed to get a place in the ballot. I will be joined on the day day by my long suffering wingman Leon collins who I have roped into being my human mule / support runner. He will be carrying amongst other things a spare leg for me should I need it on the way round. [/p][p]It will be a little over three years since I lost my leg and I feel that this will be a fitting way to mark the occasion. It's a mamoth undertaking having not run that far before and for good reason! I think there will be a fair amount of blood, sweat and tears shed on the way round![/p][p]None of this would be possible today without the help and support of my family and in especially the love and support from Libby. I owe them all so much. [/p][p]Lastly my connection to BLESMA started a few weeks after losing my leg and continues to this day. I heve been very fortunate to take part in some fantastic rehabilitation events with them and would like to raise as much money as possible to thank them for giving so much help to those that need it. And to enable BLESMA to continue the great work they do in helping seriously injured sevicemen and women. [/p][p]Thank you for reading my our page and thank you for donating![/p]

Many many congratulations - an amazing time. I hear all about you from Joy's friend Christine who I work with. You are a real inspiration and BLESMA is a fantastic charity (they looked after my grandfather for years). Well done.
