Team story

[p]On the 16th (to the 17th) July 2016, two brave men will be tackling a challenge which will dwarf all other challenges either of them have previously undertaken. It's so challenging, it very much devserves the title "challenge". So what is this challenging challenge these challengers are challenging themselves to challenge?[/p][p]Cycling 280 miles in just 24 hours - from England’s capital London, to the capital of the most french country - Paris.[/p][p]Ant and Dec, The Two Ronnies, Lorrel and Hardy, Mel and Sue, Kenan and Kel - the list of dynamic duos could go on for days. However, with this event comes a new pair that deserve to be on that list - Charlie and Mike. Indivudally they are just a paramedic and a web developer, but together they are a cycling paramedic and a web developer on a bike.[/p][p]The challenge is not just about covering the miles, it’s about seeing whether Charlie can stand being with Mike for 24 hours, it’s about seeing if we can track the whole route on Strava before one of our devices fails and it’s about seeing whether we can find our way in the dark to the capital of France.[/p][p]Getting to Paris is easy, you can get the train up to St. Pancras then the eurostar straight into the capital. It’s not so easy when you’re on a bike: Starting in Blackheath Saturday lunchtime, the route is a 90 mile cruise down to Dover. Once across the channel on the ferry, the 190 remaining miles are tackled - starting in the dead of night and arriving the one of the most iconic buildings by Sunday afternoon.[/p][p]All the money raised on this plight will be going to Scope - a charity aiming to make this country a place where disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else.[/p][p]Every little helps - so anything you can donate to help us reach our £2000 target will be hugely appreciated.[/p][p]Read more about the event on the website.[/p]
