This is a fantastic charity that finances vital research into the understanding of, prevention of, and treatment of Neurological conditions. This is very close to our hearts for several reasons. [/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; font-family: ".SF UI Text"; color: #454545; min-height: 20.3px;"[gt][span=font-family: ".SFUIText"; font-size: 17pt;]            [/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; font-family: ".SF UI Text"; color: #454545;"[gt][span=font-family: ".SFUIText"; font-size: 17pt;]Jo had a Stroke in 2000 aged 22. John was her main carer at the time. Jo’s Stroke was due to a bleed in the brain from a malformation of blood vessels. She mainly had problems with speaking, reading and writing (dysphasia), and found it difficult to process information for it to make sense. Jo received approximately 12 months of speech therapy, and was in and out of hospitals for 3 years until she had the “all clear” in 2003. Without the vital research into the brain, how it works, how it recovers and how to rehabilitate it, we dread to think how different the outcome may have been.[/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; font-family: ".SF UI Text"; color: #454545; min-height: 20.3px;"[gt][span=font-family: ".SFUIText"; font-size: 17pt;] [/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; font-family: ".SF UI Text"; color: #454545;"[gt][span=font-family: ".SFUIText"; font-size: 17pt;]Jo now works as a Neurological Physiotherapist in Retford, North Nottinghamshire, and treats clients with Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease and other devastating conditions on a daily basis, helping them regain independence and work towards their own goals. “I have not talked about my stroke much in the past, partly as I didn't want it to seem like I was using excuses to fall back on if things didn't work out for my Physiotherapy and Pilates business (started in Retford in January 2013), and partly as I didn't want be judged on preconceived ideas of what people thought I would or would not be able manage following a stroke; I wanted to be judged on my actual abilities and expertise in the Physiotherapy field. Now that I am running a successful business (including winning highly sought after business awards in 2014, 2016 & 2017) I feel the time is right to speak out; to break preconceived ideas, and to encourage others with neurological conditions that goals still can be achieved”. [/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; font-family: ".SF UI Text"; color: #454545; min-height: 20.3px;"[gt][span=font-family: ".SFUIText"; font-size: 17pt;] [/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; font-family: ".SF UI Text"; color: #454545;"[gt][span=font-family: ".SFUIText"; font-size: 17pt;]The London Marathon is a major goal for both John and Jo (18 months ago John had never run more than one mile!), and also a perfect opportunity to start raising awareness about Neurological conditions, and what can still be achieved with determination and drive. Approximately one in five adults will have a Neurological condition so our fundraising for the Brain Research Trust is very relevant for many. Thank you so much for considering supporting this amazing charity with your kind donation.[/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; font-family: ".SF UI Text"; color: #454545; min-height: 20.3px;"[gt][span=font-family: ".SFUIText"; font-size: 17pt;] [/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; font-family: ".SF UI Text"; color: #454545;"[gt][span=font-family: ".SFUIText"; font-size: 17pt;]With many thanks[/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; font-family: ".SF UI Text"; color: #454545;"[gt][span=font-family: ".SFUIText"; font-size: 17pt;]Jo and John Pritchard [/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; font-family: ".SF UI Text"; color: #454545; min-height: 20.3px;"[gt][span=font-family: ".SFUIText"; font-size: 17pt;] [/span][/p]
