Team story

[lt]p style="margin: 0px; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue';"[gt][span=letter-spacing: 0.0px;]We, Jacqui/Jax and Nina/Nins, did it: 600km in 6 days [lt]span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue';"[gt]from the foothills of the Pyrenees to Saumur in the Loire valley.[/span][lt]/span[gt][/p][lt]p style="margin: 0px; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue';"[gt][/p][lt]p style="margin: 0px; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue';"[gt][span=letter-spacing: 0.0px;]We did it in support of Children with Cancer UK. Jacqui’s nephew, Willem, aged 4, was diagnosed with leukaemia, one the most common forms of childhood cancer. Although 90% of the children can now be cured (it was a fatal disease a few decades ago), this survival rate has only been achieved with one of the most intensive, toxic treatment protocol of cancers. Now there is a stem cell research programme underway, which aims to improve the lives of children with leukaemia by decreasing the negative impact of the treatment. This is what your donations go into.[/span][/p][lt]p style="margin: 0px; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue';"[gt][/p][lt]p style="margin: 0px; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue';"[gt][span=letter-spacing: 0px;]Those six days were some of the best of our lives. It was wonderful to have an aching body from cycling for days and days, knowing that one day it would help leukaemia suffering kids survive cancer and to lead a healthy life after winning that dreadful battle.[/span][/p]
