My story

[p]LATEST EVENT: 3 Mountains in 3 Years - before his tenth birthday...[/p][p]In 2017, aged 7, Theo decided it would be a good idea to tackle the UK's largest mountains before his tenth birthday as his next step for supporting the charities that helped him and his mum and dad in his earlier years during his series of open heart surgeries and VP shunt related procedures. He also wanted to show that it was possible to recover from these types of procedure and live a happy, active life.[/p][p]On August 11th 2018, Theo climbed 1085 metres to the summit of Mount Snowdon in a round trip covering approx 10 miles. And in August of 2019, he climbed a further 978m to the summit of Scafell Pike, a shorter distance but a much more demanding climb. He has his sights on Ben Nevis in 2020, which he hopes to complete whilst still just 9 years old. [/p][p]In addition to the actual climbs, Theo has regularly taken multiple training walks during the months ahead of a summit attempt, putting two pairs of walking boots through their paces so far. [/p][p]Please show your support with a small donation to the Theo Fund - very much appreciated. [/p][p]Read Theo's Story...[/p][p]Now happy, healthy and full of life, Theo was born with several complex heart defects that required a series of operations within his first few years and a secondary procedure to alleviate a brain haemorrhage he suffered during the first operation. [/p][p]Theo had a tough time but remained spirited throughout and has grown into an appreciative and thoughtful young man. He has not let being on the cover of ECHO's "Eddie Echo" book go to his head and still talks to his parents :-)[/p][p]Theo also met many other children, some on much tougher journeys than his. Theo's and his family's long term goal with the Theo Fund is to contribute to the support organisations that help all those affected with similar scenarios so they can continue their great work.[/p][p]Since 2010 Theo, his family and their friends and work colleagues have all played a part in getting the project going - big brother Jack's walked 100 miles over 4 days, mum Elissa took the plunge on her first ever cross country running race and there's been huge involvement and support from many others. [/p][p]We thank you for your continued support - Theo, his parents Lee and Elissa and his brother Jack.[/p][p][br][/p][p][/p]
