Team story

[p]Thanks for visting our fundraising page. On the 22nd May, myself and kindly supported by friends Dan and Zoe will be taking part in The Great Manchester Run in support of Unique.[/p][p]Why Unique? - In short, they a fabulous little charity that have a big impact for families like my own that have been affected by rare chromosome disorders.[/p][p]They have been fantastic in their support and advice to our family since our son (Matthew) was diagnosed with Duplication 15q (IDIC15) shortly before his first birthday and they strive to help many families affected in similar ways.[/p][p]With rare chromosome disorders, they are as their name suggests rather rare and as such often little is known about them and their effects. When your child falls sick, you can rely on your doctor to diagnose, treat and advise, however with rare chromosome disorders often this is not the case. Such is the rarity of many of the disorders, as experienced and knowledgeable as doctors are they are sometimes unable to provide the detailed answers you crave as a parent and you are left asking endless questions and left feeling lonely, isolated and lost. [/p][p]This is where Unique step in, offering extensive knowledge on a wide range of rare chromosome disorders, educating, raising awareness, supporting, bringing families together and reducing that feeling of isolation.[/p][p]If you can, any donation will help to make a huge difference to many families affected by rare chromosome disorders with Unique's ongoing support and also to ensure that families who face that journey in the future are not left without the fantastic support group we have been so fortunate to have had in the past two years. [/p][p]Many thanks [/p][p]Ian, ( & Dan & Zoe)[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
