My story

[p][span=font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; color: black; font-size: 10pt;]So i kept this one quiet! [/span][/p][p][span=font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; color: black; font-size: 10pt;]On Saturday 22nd I sat on the edge of the Dock dangling my feet into the Thames waiting for the 11:20 wave to set off on the 400m swim in what's got to be the most freezing cold bath I've ever taken in my life! I'd never swum in Open Water before let alone in a wetsuit but was in and out within 20minutes - would have been quicker but at one point apparently I was heading towards Canary Wharf. [/span][/p][p][span=font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; color: black; font-size: 10pt;]Into the second transition I went - i couldn't get my hands on a hand cycle so completed the 10km bike stage in my wheelchair - yet another first as I've never propelled my chair that distance before in a competitive race and here's where i hold my hands up to the fact that i am also injured at the moment too! I completed this part of the race in 2hrs 35mins which was good going all things considered.[/span][/p][p][span=font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; color: black; font-size: 10pt;]The final stage - 2.5km run, or in my case walk was probably the only phase of the triathlon i was 100% comfortable with (talk about role reversal, 17 months ago the wheel would have been my greatest area of competency!) and this was completed in 1hr 10 mins which isn't a PB unfortunately BUT until Saturday, I had never combined ALL three together.[/span][/p][p][span=font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; color: black; font-size: 10pt;]I am literally still beaming from ear to ear. It was the best experience of my life to date.[/span][/p][p][span=font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; color: black; font-size: 10pt;]Due to not being officially registered until 3 days before and carrying the injury i have, I was reluctant to advertise the fact that i was taking part in aid of SCOPE the National Charity supporting those with Cerebral Palsy. I would be extremely grateful if you could donate a small amount helping me reach the target of £350.[/span][/p][p][span=font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; color: black; font-size: 10pt;] [/span][/p][p][span=font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; color: black; font-size: 10pt;]Thank you for your continued support[/span][/p]
