Team story

[p]Hi, a big thanks for visiting our page. [/p][p]On June 21st we have we have over 20 of the Weir Archer Academy athletes attempting a Guinness Book of Records World record attempt by pushing 250 miles in their racing chairs between them .[/p][p]At the same time we have 7 cyclists riding 150 miles each , a total of 1,050 miles  from Kingston to the South Coast and back again. The cyclists are part of the WAA support team , friends andf family. Collectively we aim to complete 1,300 miles between the WAA Squad and the cyclists  in one day ! [/p][p]The Weir Archer Academy formed in 2013 by David Weir and Jenny Archer and has grown from a handful of local atheltes to  now the largest Wheelchair Racing club in the UK . The objective of the Academy is to give sporting opportunities at all levels to the next generation of disabled people.[/p][p]For health , self development & confidence , social inclusion and for some , the ultimate in sporting success on a global stage.[/p][p]We are looking for people to sponsor all the cyclists and the WAA atheltes as a combined team for either one,two or three miles.Bronze sponsorship is one mile and  £10 or silver is two miles and £ 20 or Gold is three miles and £ 30.[/p][p]Our fundraising goal will help us get more equipment to help us with new members wanting to get into the sport. We also desperately need a large and secure storage unit at the track to help with maintenance and storage plus provide an indoor training facility for the winter. We also need to pay for some more coaching courses as the number of athletes grows the need for more coaches increases. Everyone involved at the Academy are volunteers ensuring every penny raised goes to this great cause.[/p]
