Team story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting our page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor two fantastic Charities. Donations will be quickly processed and passed to the two chosen charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p]About the two charities:[/p][p]The Paradise Steps Group - (Charity No: SCO47533) is a charity set up in 2014 to provide a hot meal each day for pupils at Chipindu School, Malawi, often there only meal of the day. By working with in partnership with the Scottish charity, Mary's Meals, our funding is delivering a nutritious meal to pupils. Attainment and attendance levels have increased and through education they, and their families, have a route out of poverty. Over 460 pupils are fed each day due to the funding provided by TPSG.[/p][p]The Paradise Steps Group also assists, where possible, good causes closer to home including the homeless winter night shelter in Glasgow in 2016 and SAMs Club a respite club for children and young adults with additional support needs.[/p][p]Mary's Meals works in 15 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean providing meals to over 1,230,000 children.[/p][p]These life-changing meals attract hungry children into the classroom. The food fills their empty bellies so they have the energy and opportunity to learn, giving them the chance of a brighter future. The meals also support families struggling to feed their children while boosting the country’s wider economy.[/p][p]The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK is the official charity partner of The English FA.[/p][p]Bobby Moore, captain of the 1966 World Cup winning football team, was just 51 years old when he died. The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK was set up by Stephanie Moore MBE, Bobby’s widow, in his memory to fund pioneering, life-saving bowel cancer research.[/p][p]Since the fund was set up in 1993 mortality rates have fallen 30% and over £23.5 million has been raised for bowel cancer research. However, we still have so much more to do as bowel cancer kills 44 people in the UK every day, that’s four football teams![/p][p]Our purpose is simple – to bring forward the day when bowel cancer is cured.
