My story

[p]Hello, a lot of my friends and family think I am crazy to do this and I did hesitate. 240 mile bike ride at the end of November in potentially freezing cold weather, blizzards and icy roads …you get the picture. The shortest day is a 50 mile ride and the longest, an 80 mile ride. I have never before cycled 50 miles in one day.[/p] [p]Why am I doing it? Paris is hosting the climate change talks this year and I wanted to add my voice to the millions of others that will be there to demand better protection for the only home we know – planet earth. Not just for us today but more importantly, for Lottie, Myles and Olive and all the children of future generations.[/p] [p]I wanted to do more than just add my voice. I have seen and experienced so much positive action by lots of different people from all around the world. These people and what they have achieved (great or small) have inspired me to want to act and raise money for their amazing projects.[/p] [p]One of the most inspiring projects that I have witnessed is reforestation and the many local and global benefits it brings. Trees are awesome life-giving guardians, they cool the planet and give life, they provide food and medicines, and they are our lungs. They will continue to provide the air that we need to breathe, for us, our children and their children – if we restore and protect them.[/p] [p]Please will you sponsor me and all money will go to reforestation. For every £1 we can plant another tree.[/p] [p]If you would prefer you can pledge to act by going to Darren’s (fellow cyclist from Love the Future) pledge action page with Do Nation. It was his mad idea to do this![/p] [p]When I am in Paris, I will be collecting stories of positive action and blogging through Love the Future and The Converging World websites and hope that this will inspire hope for you and yours. It’s not over yet![/p] [p]Lorra lorra love,[/p] [p]Wendy xx[/p][p]More about reforestation click here.
