My story

[p]There once was a little boy who was stolen from his family at 5. [/p][p]He became a child soldier at 10.[/p][p]He fought with the Khmer Rouge in the 1980s. And he was forced to fight with other armies throughout his youth. Eventually he went to work clearing landmines and unexploded ordnance in the areas where he fought. Today Aki Ra has his own demining team and 5 bomb squads working to make his country safe.[/p][p]We help raise money for the work and we help raise money to build primary schools in very remote areas of Cambodia. These are all government recognized schools, with certified teachers, and we provide all the school supplies. [/p][p]So far our sister NGO, Rural School Support Organization, we have built 24 schools for over 3,000 children in villages that have barely accessible roads, no electricity, no toilets (until we build them) and no drinkable water (until we put in a well).[/p][p]With Covid, Cambodia has lost all its tourist business. People have lost their jobs. They cannot buy food. We are raising money to assist groups to distribute food to those in need. As of May 6 we have purchased 40 tons of rice and thousands of bottles of sauce, noodle packets, salt and sugar. We need to buy 100 tons. A donation of £50 will provide 1,500 servings of rice (3 meals a day for 50 people for a month)[/p][p]We need your help to keep doing this work.[/p][p]NONE OF THIS IS DONE ALONE![/p]
