My story

[p]Hi,[/p][p]Well, we're in to another year which means I'm once more supporting the National Deaf Children's Society for the 4th year running![/p][p]This year I was fortunate to gain a ballot place for the London Marathon on the 23rd April (1st time trying; which may exasperate many of my running friends!).  This also means, that as usual I have funded all costs, therefore every donation goes to the charity.  I've had a late start to fundraising and so have only given myself 16 days until the event itself![/p][p][lt]img style="float: right;" title="LDCS Christmas Panto" src="http://wozzy.co.uk/2017-Images/thumbs/panto.jpg" alt="LDCS Christmas Panto" width="225" height="300" /[gt]Half of the money raised this year will be directed to the Leeds DCS group in order to support valuable events such as the annual pantomime trip.  All of the children and families involved do find these events invaluable and most are isolated in their area.[/p][p]Even simply highlighting that hearing aids are completely normal provides self-confidence.  I’d always encourage adults to wear their hearing aids too, so as to provide that leading figure that it’s just a normal everyday support.  I know many grown-ups who are self-conscious themselves, so imagine being a child.[/p][p]Feel free to browse my previous year's challenges at www.wozzy.co.uk.  This year, I have kept the London Marathon as a basic but still gruelling event - I have refrained (just) from cycling there!  Instead I have channelled my energies in to supporting others to improve their healthy lifestyle by becoming a run-lead and volunteering at my local club, supporting at Parkrun as well as encouraging health and wellbeing at work.[/p][p]Thank you for your valuable support![/p][p]Richard[lt]br /[gt]@RideWozzy (Twitter & Facebook)[/p][p]www.wozzy.co.uk[/p]
