[p]My Father Barry (Baz) Edensor, [/p][p]Lost his fight against COVID-19 after spending 5 weeks in UHNMs Royal Stoke, ICU and passed away peacefully on 13/12/2020. [/p][p]Baz was a man who loved life, loved his family and friends and loved a laugh. The love and care he received whilst in ICU UHNMs Royal Stoke was above and beyond anything myself, my mother and his family could ever have asked for. In the 5 weeks Baz was in hospital the staff in ICU, despite us being unable to visit and only speaking to us over the phone, truly touched our hearts and became like family to us. [/p][p]The ICU nurses were there to hold Baz's hand, when we couldn't. They talked to him, comforted him and cared for him like he was one of their own family. [/p][p]They helped us to FaceTime him before he became too poorly and spoke to us with respect, care and kindness. The Doctors, Nurses and other professionals really did give their all in the fight to save his life. [/p][p]Unfortunately, despite their valiant efforts, they lost their fight to save Baz's life. But for these incredible, heroic individuals, their fight for others is not over, and they work tirelessly and without the recognition they deserve. [/p][p]My Mom and I would ask that if anyone would like to donate any money (no matter how small) in Baz's memory, that you do so to help provide up to date equipment and resources for these real heroes, to help to make their jobs easier in the only way we can![/p][p]We thank the staff at UHNMs Royal Stoke ICU from the very very bottom of our hearts. [/p][p]Faith & Sharee Edensor [/p]
