The overall total can now be found at www.elinrose.co.uk/support. Thank you so much for your unbelievable support and incredible fundraising.[/span][/i][lt]/span[gt][/p][p][/p][p][span=font-size: small;][i][lt]span style="color: #333399;"[gt]The Elin Rose Appeal was launched in 2013 to help our daughter Elin.[/span][/i][lt]/span[gt][/p][p][span=font-size: small;][i][lt]span style="color: #333399;"[gt][lt]br /[gt][/span][/i][lt]/span[gt][/p][p][span=color: #333399 font-size;][lt]span style="font-size: small;"[gt][lt]span style="color: #333399;"[gt][i]In 2011, Elin - who was then aged 5 - was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer. With incredible positivity, Elin faced seven chemotherapy combinations, radiotherapy and surgery to remove part of a bone in her leg. Her cartwheels and smiles amazed us all.[/i][/span][lt]/span[gt][lt]/span[gt][/p][p][/p][p][span=color: #333399 font-size;][lt]span style="font-size: small;"[gt][lt]span style="color: #333399;"[gt][i]We created the Elin Rose Appeal to allow us to access further treatment options for Elin, and for future research into Ewings Sarcoma. Over £133,000 has now been raised, through the incredible efforts of friends and family - it is an amazing total and we are so grateful to so many for their incredible support. In the summer of 2014, helped by this fundraising, we took Elin to the US for further treatment. This helped to treat the lesions in her lungs and gave us huge hope. Elin then continued her treatment in the UK but things suddenly changed in the spring of 2015. The chemotherapy stopped being effective and further treatment was not possible. Elin died peacefully at home in May 2015.[/i][/span][lt]/span[gt][lt]/span[gt][/p][p][/p][p][span=color: #333399 font-size;][lt]span style="font-size: small;"[gt][lt]span style="color: #333399;"[gt][i]We are completely devastated to lose Elin, who was so full of joy and lived her life to the full - in defiance of the disease that sought to rule it. She has touched so many people, and your response to the appeal gave such hope to us all. The fundraising is now for research into treatments for Ewings Sarcoma. Over recent months, we have been working with the wonderful team at The Royal Marsden and the Institute of Cancer Research and, as a result of the fundraising, we can now help to fund crucial research into treatments for this rare, underfunded and devastating disease. The ICR has just appointed a wonderful PhD student and The Elin Rose PhD Studentship will begin at the Institute of Cancer Research in London, in September 2016. This research will continue until 2020 and we are so grateful to so many for making this happen.[/i][/span][lt]/span[gt][lt]/span[gt][/p][p][/p][p][span=color: #333399 font-size;][lt]span style="font-size: small;"[gt][lt]span style="color: #333399;"[gt][i]Thank you so much for supporting the Elin Rose Appeal. It honours our beautiful girl in the most precious and positive way.[/i][/span][lt]/span[gt][lt]/span[gt][/p][p][/p][p][span=color: #333399 font-size;][lt]span style="font-size: small;"[gt][lt]span style="color: #333399;"[gt][i]Sian, Martin and family x[/i][/span][lt]/span[gt][lt]/span[gt][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
