[p]Welcome to Lead Tech's Virgin Money Giving page and thank you for your support.[/p][p]Every year Lead Tech finds it important to host and take part in a number of events for our teams to raise money for charity. We opened up the votes to the whole team who chose our two charity partners for 2020.[/p][p]This year, Lead Tech will be partnering with The Lily Foundation and St. Gemma’s Hospice, both charities close to our hearts. Our aim is to raise as much money as possible throughout the year by baking, biking and lots of other adrenaline fuelled events pushing our comfort barriers all for these two great causes.[/p][p][b][u]The Lily Foundation[/u][/b] was founded in 2007 by Liz Curtis in memory of her daughter Lily, who died from mitochondrial disease at eight months old.[/p][p]Finding little in the way of specialist knowledge or support available to help her through her ordeal, Liz set out to provide answers for herself and others in her situation.[/p][p]What began as an informal network of family and friends quickly grew into a national charity which today supports over 500 families.[/p][p]Run by a small team of dedicated staff backed by a medical board drawn from the UK's top centres for mitochondrial research, the Lily Foundation forms a vital link between patients, doctors and medical science bodies.[/p][p]The Lily Foundation is the UK's leading mitochondrial disease charity. Their mission is to improve the lives of people affected by mitochondrial diseases. They are working towards a future where mitochondrial diseases can be effectively treated or cured. [/p][p][b][u]St Gemma’s Hospice[/u][/b] is a Leeds-based charity providing expert care and support for local people with life-limiting illnesses. They offer care to patients and their carers in the Hospice’s 32 bed In-Patient Unit, through the St Gemma’s community team and via our day services, which includes a Day Hospice and Out-Patient Department. An amazing effort from all at Lead Tech. St Gemma’s is a special place, myself, my brother Paul Walsh and the rest of our family will be forever grateful for the care they gave our dad in his final days. Good luck in 2020
