Your support is making a difference
Here's how your donations are helping NHS staff, volunteers and those most affected by the outbreak.
Helping staff overcome communication challenges
NHS staff are using walkie-talkies funded by donations to this appeal to improve the way they can communicate, as they adapt to new ways of working in response to coronavirus.
Funding resources to support patient recovery
Thanks to your generosity, patients with Covid-19 are being supported with therapeutic activities to help them recover faster from the effects of their treatment.
Supporting young patients with Cystic Fybrosis
Donations have paid for specialist monitors so children and young people with cystic fibrosis can be tested at home instead of in hospital, reducing anxieties for patients and their families.
Financial support for NHS staff
Thanks to your donations, an NHS charity has invested further in a fund to support staff who are struggling financially and plans to establish a hardship fund for patients and volunteers facing difficulties caused by the current crisis.
Funding technology for hospital patients
Thanks to your donations, an NHS charity has purchased phones and tablet computers to give patients much needed face-to-face contact with their loved ones who are unable to visit due to social distancing.
Supporting young people with mental health issues
An NHS charity has funded games and activities, including arts and crafts, with money received via the Urgent Appeal. These support young patients in mental health wards and in the community who are most likely to be adversely affected by the outbreak of coronavirus due to increased isolation.
