Virgin Money Giving is a not-for-profit company created by Virgin Money to help charities raise more. Whilst you can't run a fundraising website for free, you can do it without making a profit – keeping the costs down for everyone.
We simply ask for a small one-off payment from charities when they register with us and take 2% of donations to cover our costs, which we ask donors if they'd like to cover. Card fees are paid for by the charities but we claim Gift Aid on their behalf free of charge.

Say hello to fee-free donations for charities from 1 September
We'll be the only platform where donors can cover all your fundraising fees
Donor Covers Fee, has proven popular, with 85% of donors covering the fee, so from 1 September Donor Covers Fee will now cover your card fees too.
As we process Gift Aid free of charge, if the donor covers your fees, from 1 September, you’ll keep 100% of the donation, plus the Gift Aid.
Whilst not every donor will decide to cover your fees, we do expect most donations to become entirely fee-free.
The card fee is changing at the same time
Our fees have remained the same since 2010, however, from 1 September our card fee will change to a flat 2.5%, bringing us in line with the current costs of processing payments and other fundraising websites.
Although the card fee is going up, we still expect you to pay less overall, because of Donor Covers Fee.
See how our fees will compare from 1 September
We’re the only fundraising platform letting donors cover all the charity’s fees. In contrast, other leading platforms leave charities with no choice but to pay their card fees, Gift Aid fees and monthly fees – while donors are instead asked for ‘tips’ that go directly to the platform.
