Jo launched Virgin Money Giving and has over 10 years’ experience in developing the UK’s biggest not-for-profit fundraising platform and has a passionate ambition to help every fundraiser raise as much money as possible. So far, she has helped over 650,000 fundraisers raise more than £640m online.
After graduating from the University of East Anglia, Jo worked in advertising and media for ten years before joining Virgin Direct. By 1997 she worked as the Marketing Director as the company launched the Virgin One account.
In 2003 Jo left to set up her own marketing consultancy and then later moved to Canada where she launched her own direct selling company.
Since returning to the UK Jo has launched and led Virgin Money Giving, a not-for-profit online fundraising service from Virgin Money, and headed up Virgin Money’s sponsorship of the Virgin Money London Marathon, in addition to leading on many of Virgin Money’s Social Enterprise programmes and setting up the Virgin Money Foundation.
Today, Virgin Money Giving is a major force in UK charitable giving. It’s the biggest not-for-profit fundraising platform in the UK, supporting over 15,000 UK charities to raise over £670m for good causes.
Half a billion pounds has been raised for charity through the London Marathon since the start of Virgin Money and Virgin Money Giving’s relationship with the event.
From now until April, Jo will be sharing her experience and knowledge of how fundraisers can raise as much as possible for charities.
