Yes. If you’re sponsoring a friend we’ll ask whether you would like to leave your name and a message on their fundraising page. If you’d like to remain anonymous, simply leave the ‘Leave your name / nickname (optional)’ box blank.
However we’ll still need to pass your details to the charity so they can accept your donation and Gift Aid. Charities can only use your details if you agree to it, so you won’t hear from them again if you don’t want to.

Donor Covers Fee
It’s a new feature that gives you, the donor, the option to cover the charity’s transaction fee by adding 2% to your donation. We charge a small fee for our service based on the level of donations raised through the platform and we collect Gift Aid for free.
We don’t make a profit. By covering the transaction fee, you’ll be helping raise more for the charity, whilst allowing us to keep developing our service and supporting charities.

When making your donation you will be asked if you would like to top up your payment to cover the Virgin Money Giving transaction fee on behalf of your charity. It is your choice.
If you do opt to cover the transaction fee it means that for every £20 you donate you will pay a top up of 40p and your charity will receive an extra 40p donation. Find out more about Donor Covers Fee.
