What Is Fundraising And How Does It Work - Virgin Money Giving
5 simple steps to achieving your fundraising target

If you’re new to fundraising and not quite sure how it works, then don’t worry. At Virgin Money Giving we make it easy for you to create your very own fundraising page and ensure all the money you raise goes directly to your chosen charity, so you can start to make a real difference from your very first donation.
1. Register with Virgin Money Giving
To get started, you need to set up a fundraising page on the Virgin Money Giving website. To do this, simply visit the Virgin Money Giving fundraising website and follow the on page registration process. You can register with an email address, or via your Facebook log in details, and once you’ve entered your chosen charity and fundraising event details you’re good to go. 2. Make your fundraising page brilliant
Your fundraising page is essentially your shop window – your opportunity to tell the world about why you’re fundraising for your chosen charity, and the difference donations will make. So be sure to check that your fundraising page is as informative and engaging as possible to encourage lots of donations.
3. Share your page
Now you have your sparkly fundraising page, start to share it. We find using social media and emails a great way to share your fundraising page, as they are free and can reach people quickly.
4. Receive donations
Your supporters can donate directly on your fundraising page using a debit or credit card, safe in the knowledge that it’s a secure fundraising platform. And as part of the donation, supporters can also choose to leave you a message on the page to help give you extra encouragement.
5. Send donations to your charity
As Virgin Money Giving is a not-for-profit organisation, more of your donations go directly to your chosen charity.
Each week we then send all of your donations, minus the transaction costs, directly to your chosen charity – you don’t need to do anything other than focus on achieving your fundraising target, and of course having some fun along the way.
Have you gone the extra mile to inspire more people to donate? We’d love to hear your story and top fundraising tips on Facebook and Twitter.
