How to raise money using apps and websites
Using videos and apps opens up so much more fundraising possibilities. Learn about how you can use these platforms to help you fundraise.
Want to use some videos as part of your fundraising drive? You can embed YouTube clips directly into your Virgin Money Giving pages. And once you’ve linked your Virgin Money Giving page and YouTube account, you can also stream your own online yoga sessions, quiz nights or Joe Wicks-style fitness classes live; just set a time and invite people to your Virgin Money Giving page to watch. Here your supporters are right in front of a donate button, and you can remind them to give throughout the event.
Virgin Money Giving also offers integration with the fitness tracking app, Strava, meaning that users can display the latest data from the popular running and cycling app on their page, keeping their supporters in the loop about their training. It’s a chance to show your supporters how hard you are working for your cause, and to hopefully encourage visitors to your page to give that little bit more.
Of course, cash isn’t the only way people can donate to your cause. We’ve teamed up with Ziffit to allow you and your supporters to donate your unwanted books, CDs and DVDs and donate their value to your fundraising page. And you can turn buying into giving too. Virgin Money Giving has also teamed up with social enterprise Kindred. By installing their clever little widget onto your browser you and your supporters can earn cashback on your everyday online shopping which will go towards your fundraising target.
Finally, if you have an iPhone or iPad, you can simply ask Siri to tell you your fundraising total so you’re always kept up-to-date. Click here for full instructions.
