An update on my fundraising journey
Hi everyone,
After a hard first Christmas without Dad, I’m even more focussed on raising money for my chosen charity.
It’s all go now with training and fundraising – I’m currently on week 9 of my training schedule with a big run planned tomorrow.
The weather has been cold first thing and then warm during the day and so I’m trying to plan what to wear. I made a mistake this week of getting cold very quickly on my training run and so I won’t be making that mistake again. There are lots of ideas on the internet about layering to keep warm, which I’ll be taking some inspiration from. But let’s hope the sun keeping shinning
Fundraising is slowly getting there now. I recently approached a local newspaper and a health magazine (that goes into the hotels and gyms) for support – fingers crossed they can help me with raising money for my cause; I will keep you posted.
I also found putting my Strava runs on Facebook and Instagram – with a little reminder of my fundraising page and why it’s important – helped to raise awareness of what I’m doing. And after doing this on Wednesday I received two donations to my fundraising page, which is a great start.
With less than 60 days to go I hope you’re all managing to fit those runs in. I found a brilliant album on Spotify called ‘You Can Do It’ – it has some great tunes listed which really helped on my last run, and it may help you on yours too.
Happy running!
Rachel
