As the marathon’s official hotel partner, Holiday Inn are offering hotel packages at IHG Hotels across the capital that will leave you well rested, well fed and ready to reach the finish line. And, with a free coach transfer for marathon runners to the start line on the 26th April, you won’t need to worry about your journey to Blackheath.

Think you’ll be ready to flop into the comfort of your hotel room after the marathon? Including the walk to and from the Underground stations, this hotel is around a 20-minute journey away. There’s a spa and swimming pool on-site too – ideal for easing weary muscles.
The best hotel for spectators

A prime position to watch the race from is key when you’re cheering someone on. This central hotel is a short journey from plenty of landmarks along the marathon route. Here’s the round-journey time (including the walk to and from the stations) to some of the best spots:
- Tower Bridge: a half-hour journey. Take the Circle Line from Great Portland Street Station.
- Canary Wharf: just over a 30-minute journey. Take the Bakerloo and Jubilee Lines from Regent’s Park Station.
- Buckingham Palace: a 20-minute journey. Take the Victoria Line from Warren Street Station.
- Cutty Sark: a 45-minute journey. Take the Central Line from Oxford Circus Underground Station, then swap to the DLR.

The Virgin Money London Marathon Running Show is the best place to pick up advice in the build-up to marathon day – and, entry is free for everyone. Pick up your race number and grab last-minute supplies from all your favourite athletic brands. Plus you can check out talks from an excellent range of speakers – the 2019 event hosted Mo Farah and Eliud Kipchoge. The event is held at ExCel on Royal Victoria Dock, which is just 25 minutes on the DLR from this Holiday Inn Express hotel.
The best hotel for celebrating after the race
Holiday Inn London – Kensington Forum
This hotel is perfectly-placed for some celebratory food and drink after the marathon. Based in Kensington, it’s a short walk from Chelsea’s buzzing bars and restaurants. Bluebird, on the famous King’s Road, is a local favourite for cocktails. Or, head to Tonteria for Mexican food and margaritas.
