Other ways to give

Here are a few ways you can make a real difference even if you’re not taking part in an event.

Workplace Giving

Workplace Giving

Workplace Giving helps you support good causes in the most tax-efficient way by giving directly from your pay. Donating through Workplace Giving means your chosen charity automatically receives your gift tax-free. This means up to 50% more gets to your charity – making the maximum difference.

It’s so easy to set up. Just fill in one form. There’s no Direct Debit. No Gift Aid. Your payroll department and chosen charity are told automatically and your first donation is normally made in 4-6 weeks.

Workplace Giving allows charities to plan for the future and saves on admin costs too. Meaning you’re supporting them in more ways than one. Some companies also match what their employees give so your donation can be worth twice as much.

Find out more about the scheme by visiting Workplace Giving UK.

Set up a regular donation through Virgin Money Giving

If you’d like to make a regular monthly gift to a charity, you can do it online through Virgin Money Giving. Just find the charity you’d like to support by searching on our homepage. When you find them, click ‘make a donation’ and change the first option from’ ‘single’ to ‘regular’. Then choose your donation amount and when you’d like the money to be collected.

The great news is that if you’re eligible, all your donations will benefit from Gift Aid, meaning more money for your charity.

Donate your old car through Charity Car

Charity Car logoCharity Car is the big-hearted scheme from the UK's largest car recycling network - - that allows you to turn your old car into a cash donation for the charity of your choice. That's 100% of its market value if it's ready to be recycled.

Do you have an old car that you need to get rid of, or know someone that does? Then why not join the thousands of like-minded people who have donated the value of their old car to charity. Simply visit Charity Car to get started.

All you'll need to tell them is a few details about you, your car and the charity you wish to support. You can even choose whether to deliver your old car to your nearest CarTakeBack recycling centre, or to make things easy, they'll collect it from you free of charge.

If your old car still has some life left in it, they'll arrange for it to be sold to the highest bidder so that it can be fixed up and given a new lease of life. And if it truly has reached the end of the road, or if you'd just prefer, it will be recycled in line with the latest environmental regulations. Either way they'll help you to complete the necessary DVLA paperwork and, if required, issue your DVLA Certificate of Destruction, freeing you of any liability.

Charity Car will then transfer the donation directly to your chosen charity. Simple!
